In year 2017, PR Asia has collaborated with AACTA (Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts) to initiate a program known as Asia International Engagement Program, in which the AACTA Award for Best Asian Film was introduced to award excellence in Asian filmmaking works. The main initiative of launching the program itself was to strengthen the relationship between the film industries of Australia and its closest Asian neighbours. By introducing the works of top-tier Asian filmmakers to local audiences and industry in Australia, the booming Asia's filming industries can benefit most of the participating Australia’s highly skilled screen practitioners, as well as creating opportunities for extensive collaborations between Australia and the Asian region.
